pgiro 36 #1 Posted May 31, 2016 I picked up a 48" deck for my D-160. I was surprised to see that it didn't have grease fittings on the pulleys. My other WH decks all have them. Any reason why the deck for the D-160 doesn't?
daveoman1966 3,627 #2 Posted May 31, 2016 The older mower decks with the 'Double-D" configuration for the top pulley(s) and the mower blades were not made with grease fittings. I have had many of these and it is fairly easy to drill into the aluminum spindle housing and tap in a grease fitting. This has to be done on the bottom side of the deck, of course. In years of approx. the same vintage, a cast iron (steel ?) spindle housing was used with a small tube and grease zerk tapped into the flange of the housing. In this configuration, the grease fitting protruded up thru the mower deck shell.
