trouble shooting tip

So I finally got a chance to mess around with the Charger12 auto I picked up a few weeks back. the tractor had been sitting outside under a tarp for about 15 years , put a little gas in it a few shots of starter fluid and motor was humming along . only problem is it would go in reverse but not forward it seemed like it was in the lever ????? so I figured something rusted fast down inside there I took that plate off and low and behold the whole box was filled up with 40+ black walnut shells and some kind of bird bone! I cleaned out all those nut hulls that were blocking the lever from working , and 2 minutes later I was mowing grass with the thing!

:wwp:   Many years back I picked up a free older MTD (when they were cast iron) because it had no spark. Pulled the flywheel and found the entire area behind it full of roach droppings and eggs; blew it out with an air hose, put the flywheel back on and had spark. :hide: I don't have any pictures either.

This shows why my 520 that I just brought home would not go very fast either. Giant mouse nest had everything all bound up.
