cheesegrader 433 #1 Posted May 21, 2016 I have to do some rewiring on one of my tractors. New relays, fuse holders, 9-pin... the usual suspects. I plan on using waterproof, crimp butt connectors, and cover them with shrink tubing. I'm considering appling dielectric grease after crimping, but before applying heat and shrinking everything down. Will this keep me from getting a good seal? Will the grease just melt away under the heat? (I've soldered some connections in the past, but I'm not very good at it, and I have had much better results with the crimp connectors)

ol550 830 #3 Posted May 21, 2016 Why not use dual wall shrink tubing. That adhesive won't let anything past.
Racinbob 10,389 #4 Posted May 21, 2016 It certainly won't hurt anything. You really don't need all that much heat to shrink the tubing.
