My snow removal threesome

Recommended Posts

Rollerman

Just had our first decent snow.....only 4" , but I'm getting bored waiting. :D

Did most of my work with the 66 L156 Ranger W/blower....I didn't care for Ranger's at first...but the more I use them they are light, easy to handle & capable machines!

Also used my 95 520 W/56" blade to clean up a bit...that thing is a monster & I'm curious to try it in some heavier snow.

Didn't get out the 953 today other than for pics...still working out some details on the clutching.

It's kinda graby & hard to creep when needed.

Still waiting on a manual so I can get the part# for the drive belt....has the TSC blue belt on it now. :hide:

Sorry about the poor pics, time for a new camera. :hide:

Stephen,

Nice pictures - only 4 inches, huh? That would be a pretty decent snow here. :D

:hide: On the camera thing, I wouldn't want you to dip into that 1054A fund. :hide: But, cameras have come down in price significantly. I just saw an ad last night on TV, I can't remember if it was Best Buy, Circuit City or where, but a Kodak 9.3 mp camera for under $80, about $30 off. My old Kodak at 3.1 mp does a great job, so anything over that mp would be good, I would think.

Terry I'm actually still useing a camera phone...same as "all" my other pics.

We have a Polaroid i733, but the CP spoils me...it's always there & takes 2 seconds to email the pics direct to my account. :hide:

Guess I better get used to useing a real camera before my pics look worse than a crayon drawling huh. :D

Nice looking plow team Stephen. Next time the Ranger is working get someone to take action shots for you. Not sure that Ive ever seen a Ranger blowing snow. Pics of the blowers mounted yes but not a good action shot. Your cell phone pictures look good to me, better pics than my phone takes. Photo software could help make them even better.

I still use my 2001? Olympus D-100, around $150 - $175 back then. It is only 1.3mp but works fine for garage shots of new projects. Also dont worry about getting it dirty in the garage. I do use the Sony 6mp "borrowed" from my brother for the zoom, better pics and its what I use to get video for the net.

Nice looking and capable team of "snow getters"

I especially like the 953.

Unless you planning on blowing up photos to poster size.......

Anything over 3.1mp is just a waste and will only get you a mega-size file.

Sorry to get :hide:

:hide: I used to use a 2.5mp camera. I was told that I can't go bigger then a 4x6 with it. I went to 8X10, and framed the pics. No problem. Now I have a 7mp camera, and the file sizes are rather large. Anything you get now should work just fine.

Seeing that picture Stephen.... I am feeling inspired to get out my Ranger and see if she can still throw snow!

Is that your driveway your in front of? That would not allow much seat time.

No wonder you are out on the sidewalks. :hide:

Now Stephen,

Those pictures of the Lawn Ranger blowing snow are JUST NEAT :hide: UH but one question ..... now ya' ain't exactly a small fry ... so what's the added weight for in the rear? :hide::omg: yeah with the snow blower mounted on the front of a Lawn Ranger the rear end gets REAL LIGHT :omg:

I have a NOS blower mounted on my 1968 Lawn Ranger .... maybe this winter??? Most likely not. :D:D

Stephen, Looks like the Ranger is throwing that snow. :hide: Who wants to walk behind a small snowblower when you can ride on the Ranger that has a smaller engine. :D
