WVHillbilly520H 10,376 #2 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Looks to be a 70's-80's "B" or "C" series...if starts, runs and moves it should be worth it but doesn't hurt to offer less and work up to his asking price...does it have a mower deck? and what HP is it 8,10,12? I'm sure more knowledge will chime in soon looks like someone has done some wiring and moved the ignition switch try $300 ,Jeff. roadapples 6,983 #4 Posted May 17, 2016 By 72 they were using the newer type starter, so it`s older than that. Snow plow and wheel weights help the price. Check the frame were the trans. mounts. Pushing snow is hard on that part of the frame. Not that hard to fix but will bring the price down...
rj24 38 #5 Posted May 17, 2016 Ok thanks for the tip
AMC RULES 37,196 #6 Posted May 17, 2016 Like the billy above... I'd be all done, maxed out at three hundred.
rmaynard 16,300 #7 Posted May 17, 2016 It has to be a '71 or earlier. The ID tag is under the dash. In 1972 they started putting it on the left side. If anyone can enhance the tag, we would know what we are dealing with and better estimate a value.
Racinbob 11,940 #8 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) I'm thinking it's a collection of years. The hood and steering wheel scream mid 70's, The motor and seat are earlier. Looking closely I think I see that the hood is raised in the front indicating it started out life as a 1974 C-160 with the Tecky and they put the Kohler on it. rj24, could that tag read 1-0385? Oops, wait.....the 1-0385 was an 8 speed. I'm back to a collection of years and owned by an elderly gentleman that needed a lower step in order to get on it. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,493 #9 Posted May 17, 2016 Possibly a 1968 early production Charger 12 model 1-7231 Serial looks like 395922 Garry
rmaynard 16,300 #10 Posted May 17, 2016 The '68 Chargers had a different hood. I think it has been cobbled together from many different species. If @rj24 can get the ID number for us, that would be great.

WHX?? 51,791 #12 Posted May 17, 2016 68 or 69 for sure, take some spit and see if you can't wash off that tag a little... 300 at the very tops

The hood has been swapped out, the decals are the '73-77 ones and notice the paint on the hood doesn't match the rest of the tractor.
rj24 38 #14 Posted May 18, 2016 Here's what I got17395922
rmaynard 16,300 #15 Posted May 18, 2016 I think you are missing most of the top number. The bottom number is the serial number, and the top number should read something like 1-XXXX.
rmaynard 16,300 #17 Posted May 18, 2016 If you stare at it long enough, numbers will appear, just like those computer generated pictures that some people can see and others can't, but when you stare at them long enough, cross your eyes, and let your brain go out of gear, a 3D image appears. I have stared at the image here for hours and now and have gone cross-eyed, but I now see 1- 7231. That would be an early model 1968 Charger 12, with a Kohler k301S-4712B which had a starter/generator and Sunstrand transmission. The hood is a '72 to '75 replacement, and the soft steering wheel is also a replacement. Just my worth.

rmaynard 16,300 #19 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Yup, I can still do it. That's a good one Dick. What is interesting about that one is that depending on how your brain interprets it, there are two distinctly different images. I can see both.
