pabird 40 #1 Posted May 14, 2016 Back in 2000 when I bought my C-161 a new 42" mower deck shell cost me $300. I transferred all of the components and have been all set since. Recently while at the dealer I asked about a new blade spindle assembly and was quoted $300!! Next up was a fuel pump, new style plastic body, $175!! No more rebuild kits for the old style metal bodied pump. I really want to keep my old horse running but at some point.........What do you guys have to say about this. What are my options when I absolutely need something?

Dale's mower shop in Kempton Pa, I thought he told me that a brand new spindle assy. was only like $ 130.00 list, that was a new style and you might have been pricing the older style with the key way in,and that's why it was so high. pm me if you want his contact info eric j

daveoman1966 3,841 #6 Posted May 14, 2016 I have lots of good used blade spindle assy in my shop. These are for 42 or 48" decks, and some for 36" decks. Send me a off-site email if you want to pursue this. Here us a example. My direct email is: daveoman@windstream.net
pabird 40 #7 Posted May 14, 2016 That's exactly the kind of response I was hoping for! I really get off keeping this old iron running especially when the guy next store spends 5 grand on a zero turn and then tells me how much better my lawn looks and with a tractor that's as old as he is! I bought this thing back in 2000 from my other neighbor who then bought a big box brand. It wasn't long before he was trying to get his back. It's good to know there is a community out there as dedicated as you are to keeping these machines running.

Found some new Onan replacement fuel pumps on eBay (2 for $80) and the Stens replacement for Kohler and Briggs like $20 just looks weird but I have used one on my Onan with success,Jeff.
