elliot ness 1,916 #1 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Had a set of newer stile hub-caps that were surface rusted, I cleaned them up with Aluminum foil [that's correct aluminum foil work great, just fold it a few time's and rub of the rust] painted the hub-caps like the older stile. What do you think? Edited May 14, 2016 by elliot ness

Agreed whole package looks really good, I just went yesterday to a powder coat shop near work they have a near chrome looking powder since mine the chrome is actually peeling, $150 for all 4, blasted and coated which I would hope holds up better than the original plating, and they have a chrome "paint" also covers everything metal wood plastic ceramic ect ,"Cosmichrome" I think they said it was,Jeff.

I believe Simplicity still sells them plain without any logos (at least from looking through their website) if you have a local dealer nearby I would check with them, also seen some plain chrome caps on eBay every now and then, almost want to get the plastic anniversary hubcaps "chromed" now,Jeff.

I used paint sticks, got them a Wal-Mart, you have to shake them and then use them like a wide pen or marker. It's real paint.

I have a set I got several years ago. My brother and I were at a big antique/classic car swap meet in Kansas City. One vendor was a guy had nothing but wheel covers and hubcaps, thousands of them. My brother saw the WH caps first and showed it to me. We knew exactly what they were. They were in average condition. I asked the guy how much? He said $40 a piece and asked me what they fit. I said, I think they will fit a Wheel Horse tractor, I'll give you $40 for the set. He said, "deal." Polished 'em up and installed on my B-80.
