fishingstararlake 1 #1 Posted May 10, 2016 Hi guys, My wheel horse has a 20hp onan. The starter bendex doesn't engage all the time. I have taken it out and cleaned it but that doesn't help. I jumped it out of the tractor the drive would pop out and was very hard to hold on to. I cleaned the contacts and replaced the fuse. How do I test to find out if it is in the drive or power to it? Thank you Dan
cleat 7,263 #2 Posted May 10, 2016 I had one that would do that. This one had the start solenoid removed (not the starter solenoid, but the one inline to the starter). I wired in a lighting solenoid and it now works properly. It is the one called "auxiliary solenoid" in the attached wire diagram. fishingstararlake 1 #3 Posted May 11, 2016 so you think it could be low on power? how lose should the solenoid gear be? I can wiggle mine side to side.
