Pollack Pete 2,273 #1 Posted May 9, 2016 I'm bringing a 418-A back to life.Of course, the original seat is shot. The tractor deserves a new seat, not to mention my back side. The current seat has the adjustable slides.Original bolt measurement are: side to side 7 1/2 inches.Front to back 8 inches. All I can find for a replacement measures 7 1/2 side to side by 7 front to back .I can take the cover off a new seat and drill some new holes, but I'd really like to find a direct bolt-on seat without going right to Toro. Can't really drill the sliders out because they have a travel stop indentation right where I'd need to drill.I want to keep the sliders because if I don't,I'll need about 3 inch risers so a new seat will fit onto the hinged mounting plate.Anyone here have any ideas?Did an on-line chat with a guy at Northern Tool.He said none of their seats have a 7 1/2 by 7 bolt pattern. Thanks for any and all help. rmaynard 16,297 #2 Posted May 9, 2016 My seat hole pattern on all of my horses is 7-1/2" x 7. If you have the big "C" shaped springs, maybe you have them on upside down.

I've been trying to track down a seat for my dad's 1996 314-8. It's a 5 3/4" X 7 7/8". Edited May 9, 2016 by TDF5G
JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,498 #4 Posted May 9, 2016 I had a different bolt pattern on the 416-8 when I replaced that seat. It was an oddball, but I eventually found a match. Best of luck. Glenn
KC9KAS 4,744 #5 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) Take a piece of flat steel and drill holes to match the seat, and holes to match the adjustable slides.....or do they overlap too much to make this work? Edited May 9, 2016 by KC9KAS spelling

Forget which Horse but, a seat with the wrap around rubber cover I once removed and lifted out the foam. Bolted the seat on, replaced the foam with a bit of spray adhesive. Pulled the rubber back on. All was "comfy." The Northern Tool seat has multiple mounting patterns. Those bolted without any drilling.
