ronhatch 406 #1 Posted May 9, 2016 Now that I've mowed several times with my newly restored C-101, I'm finding it a little slow mowing in 2nd gear. I'm thinking of replacing the 5" transmission pulley with a 4 1/2" pulley and of course going to a shorter drive belt. Does anyone have experience doing this modification? Would a 4 1/2" be worth while or would a 4" be better. What size belt worked with the pulley change? I don't want to go too fast and jeopardize the quality of cut that I'm getting now. . In other words, the quality of cut is more important to me then speed.
daveoman1966 3,841 #2 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) I have a 4" trans pulley on Ebay ...... It is itrem # 131777881327. Have a look-c as it may suit your needs. I just revised it for free shipping. ps... Here is an inter-active tool to help fig out the pulley speeds and changes. It is pretty slick...spend some time with it. http://www.blocklayer.com/pulley-belteng.aspx Edited May 9, 2016 by daveoman1966
