Michele 0 #1 Posted May 1, 2016 I have a 1988 252-h. (Model 22-13KE01) 12hp Kawasaki fb469v (by searching I know this was replaced with a fb460v) the carburetor is a KW10696 - (by searching I know it was replaced with a KW10763) but here's my question... My carburetor decided to somehow lose its screw and spring (air-idle??) it runs fine except the fact that gas comes out...of course both are discontinued. (I'll attach pics.) My husband works away and I'm left searching to fix this. Can anyone tell me what carburetor I can change this out with or what I can do? (I found a 460v on eBay for 245.00.... Which is pretty much showing discontinued in finding parts for... So why would I buy it - if I will just end up hitting the same wall as I'm hitting now?!) I refuse to buy a lawn mower over a stupid spring and screw... Especially when it runs fine! (Part #70 in diagram...) Thanks in advance!! -Michele
wallfish 18,189 #2 Posted May 1, 2016 I'm not familiar with those engines at all but if it runs fine then maybe just check the local hardware store for a regular screw the same size and thread count to stop the fuel from leaking. That certainly isn't the "correct" way to fix it but it may get you by until you can find the correct part or a reasonably priced replacement carb. Catching on fire is not good option so anything is better than nothing.
