Hydro oil is changed

Recommended Posts

Well after weeks of thought and reasearch i decided to go with Rotella T5 10W-30 Heavy duty diesel oil in my hydro,, with the 1410 Napa filter of course... So i changed it then cut my grass and ya would not believe the difference,, the hydro is "Completely Silent" while driving you can't hear the hydro at all ,, i mean 100% silent and that was after i cut grass when it was hot,,, i am totally amazed ,,the lift circut you only hear when the mower deck hits the top of its lift and you cant go any higher,, and even that is faint.. I decided to keep wheel horses oil weight recommendations with 10W-30,, bit went with the synthetic blend which is a synthetic base oil with just regular oil additives in addition to the synthethic additives,,,plus the wear protection of the heavy duty diesel additives..so i got the best of both worlds and the difference is incredible,, lift is instantly responsive and silent,,,i have the Rotella T1 SAE 30W in the engine now but cant wait tell end of summer to put the T5 15W-40 Rotella synthetic blend in there ,,, WHAT A DIFFERENCE ,, Top quality synthetic oils make...

I switched my 418A to Mobil 10-30w, synthetic oil filling engine and hydro. Even in cold of winter the hydro is ready to go quickly, the lift circuit active right away lifting the snowblower easily. Summer duty includes the mower deck and front mounted chipper. No oil problems at all.

I was around back in the 60's working at a truck stop and Rotella-T was the #1 selling oil for the truckers even back then. A lot of us were even running it in our cars and farm tractors. No problems! Then came the synthetic and there were guys running this stuff 1000000  (that's one hundred thousand) miles in there diesels with no problems, They would change filters and add a quart as needed but never did hear of a oil related problem. Not that I would ever recommend anything like that, but it was being done.  With the government mandating the removal of many of the anti-ware additives from conventional oil, synthetics seems the only way for small engine owners to go.
