Phatboy 565 #1 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Ok so my WH dealer calls and says my new hour meter is in,, so i go get it and get back to the house and star looking,, and i see on the back the 2 11/32 nuts on back to take mount off,,, but once you do that how do you get the gauge out the front of the dash ? Please tell me i dont have to remove the steering wheel and all to get the plastic dash cover off to remove the gauge... cleat 7,260 #2 Posted April 22, 2016 To do the job right you do. If yours has the motion controls and hydro lift on the steering column it gets worse yet. You can take the screws out of the plastic and see if it will move enough to get the gauge out.

I think it is gonna be remote mounted somwhere under the hood like some JD are lol ,, im sure not gonna take all that apart,, i just use it for keeping tract of oil changes and and maintenance ,, so yea haha under the hood it goes ,, ill pigtail a hot lead right off the original pink power wire ,, and just move it ,,
oldredrider 2,553 #4 Posted April 22, 2016 I had a 310-8 someone mounted an hour meter on the seat pan under the seat. Thought that was a good place with lots of room to mount.
bds1984 1,499 #5 Posted April 22, 2016 Makes me glad I have an old 520. Gauge changing/modification is much easier without the collum mounted controls!

Phatboy 565 #9 Posted April 22, 2016 Thanks for the idea but i habe already purchased a toro one that fir in the dash ,,, so i got a mount that you used to use to put like oilpressure gauges under dash of cars ,, to mount it somewhere ,, i really cant return the one i got cause of re-stocking fee as i ordered it.. That would habe been a good idea tho probly more durable the one yoir showing seeing as there is no moving parts ,, oh well thanks anyway buddy appreciate the idea..
