I know there's no such thing as a bad WH; but is a 1998 314-8 a good model? I currently have a 1981 B115. Thanks for any replies.

I have one.  Nice machine but all the safety switches will drive you nuts.  At least you will not be be able to drive it with the parking brake on :-)

The 8 speeds are best for garden plowing and tilling, and  OK for mowing.  but I really would not be without my HYDROS for blowing and plowing snow.     :twocents-02cents:

You can't go wrong with that model.  Elec is more complicated, but not too bad.  Be sure to get all of the documents, correct for the year, as there were some changes with the engines (newer is the Kohler Magnum)  I have a 312-8 and it is a great worker.

Would a 1998 314-8 have an hour meter?

I asked the seller what the hours, model no, deck width, and year were; got a reply from the seller, but he didn't list the hours.

thanks for all the replies

I'm guessing that my 1-family owned 1981 B115 has 1700 hours (50hr x 34yrs)

Those safety switches drove me nuts but, quit (;)) working. Honest, I don't know how that came 'bout.
