Dan Stewart 8 #1 Posted April 18, 2016 I have a '66 WheelHorse 606/656. It had a 13.5 Honda clone engine in it when purchased. I have removed and installed a 6.5 clone (HF). I'm 78 and wanted an easier pull. The engine I replaced was haphazardly installed. I now have the engine installed and I thought I had mounted it visually close enough for the belt that I had. It runs, moves etc. but I see too much slop in the belt. My question would be how to size up for a proper size belts. Is there a formula. Like distance between centers and pulley sizes. Any feedback will be appreciated with upmost thanks.
953 nut 60,262 #2 Posted April 18, 2016 This manual may give you a starting point, it will be a trial and error process to get the correct belt. Be sure you have the belt guard on and all of the belt guides shown in the manual or you will be grinding gears. Keep us posted, and .

Tankman 3,523 #4 Posted April 18, 2016 If the belt isn't serviceable cut it, then overlap one end. How much shorter do you need? Or, wrap a cord around the drive pulleys. Length? A starting point. Huskee Kevlar belts, excellent, on the shelf at Tractor Supply. Fairly inexpensive. Good luck and do let all know how you fare.
Dan Stewart 8 #5 Posted April 19, 2016 NAPA has a belt coming tomorrow. Hopefully sized right. I tried one today but was to tight. I had hardly had any play in the clutch. Once I have the belt setup I have to fab a bracket for front of belt guard.
