Must be missing something. Turn key and get nothing. Can jump solenoid fires right up. Only 2 safeties, PTO and clutch pedal.

Change solenoid no difference. Check switch when I turn the key to the start position it did get 12V. What else can I check?

Thanks in advance.

If you have an ammeter on the tractor, check to make sure the wires are connected to it solidly.

By "jump the solenoid" do you mean bypassing it or sending 12v to the start terminal? Since you replaced it let's assume it's fine. Get the wiring diagram for your year B-80 and, with a voltmeter or test light, take it one step at a time starting at power to the ignition switch, output in the start position, to the first safety switch, output from that switch, the same for the second switch and on to the solenoid terminal. That's a pretty basic system and it's not difficult. Just one step at a time until you find the problem. :)

Paul, The ammeter gauge shows a discharge with the key on.

Racinbob, The way I jumped the solenoid is12v to the start terminal. The solenoid I replaced is a 12V auto solenoid which

I think is new, but that made no difference. I will do what you stated "one step at a time". I do think it's a safety issue. I

have power to four terminals with the key on, and the fifth has 12V in start position. Also I use the tractor plowing snow

this winter. I try finding the wiring diagram and go from their.

Thanks the both of you.
