Not a dumb question - It Keeps the blade from being forced sideways due to lateral force...Mine occasionally gets out of kilter if you hit a snow bank on an angle etc. This stabilizer concept keeps it dead center... Sure, I get it now. Blade mounts to rear hydro, blade lift is in center of tractor. Long vertical rod on front attachmatic bracket allows blade to be lifted up and let down but won't allow blade and framework to be moved out of centered position. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The stabilizer bracket for the 5xi is bolted to the left side frame rail though to prevent interference with the sector cable. It still gets the job done! I like squonk have been plowing snow with a Wheel Horse for almost 50 yrs. I have never had trouble with the blade swaying/walking back and forth/side to side. I am curious as to what's causing this. Oh oh by the way squonk like you I have moved a lot of snow in the dark on a 701 with no lights. I wouldn't say that's the smartest thing I have ever done. Toro designed this feature for the 5xi blade. It is a longer tractor and due to the additional length of the blade's frame, it swayed back and forth. This was added to prevent that.
