Ohwheelhorse 121 #3 Posted April 10, 2016 I can see how that could help a lot. Sometimes all it takes is a simple fix. And another set of eyes to look at something.
DougC 2,643 #4 Posted April 10, 2016 Stupid question time. I have 520H tractors and front dozer blades. (Notice I didn't say plows....) I am curious. What does it do? (And please don't say stabilize the front plow.............)

Not a dumb question - It Keeps the blade from being forced sideways due to lateral force...Mine occasionally gets out of kilter if you hit a snow bank on an angle etc. This stabilizer concept keeps it dead center... Sure, I get it now. Blade mounts to rear hydro, blade lift is in center of tractor. Long vertical rod on front attachmatic bracket allows blade to be lifted up and let down but won't allow blade and framework to be moved out of centered position.
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #7 Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) This was copied from the 5xi series. The stabilizer bracket for the 5xi is bolted to the left side frame rail though to prevent interference with the sector cable. It still gets the job done! MalMac 1,332 #18 Posted April 15, 2016 Was watching this thread and have seen a couple more awhile back and I am not sure I am understanding this sway thing. I like squonk have been plowing snow with a Wheel Horse for almost 50 yrs. I have never had trouble with the blade swaying/walking back and forth/side to side. I am curious as to what's causing this. Oh oh by the way squonk like you I have moved a lot of snow in the dark on a 701 with no lights. I wouldn't say that's the smartest thing I have ever done. Ever been stopped dead in your tracks with steering wheel embbed in your waist?

Toro designed this feature for the 5xi blade. It is a longer tractor and due to the additional length of the blade's frame, it swayed back and forth. This was added to prevent that. I have driven mine without it attached while just moving it around and can verify that it is needed on the 5xi.
