Wheelie again 158 #1 Posted April 7, 2016 Hello friends living in south west Michigan this week has been pretty depressing with the weather. But today I was all smiles I have told you all I work for a metal recycling yard and today's find was mint 314 hydro 1996 with a matching 48 inch deck in just as good condition best part was a little gas and a little wrenching and it fired up and drives very good tell me what you think and any pointers or advice on the hydro would be awesome it's my first one. Sorry can't get photos to upload I will keep trying.
can whlvr 994 #2 Posted April 7, 2016 not positive but I'm sure she has an eaton 1100,i would change the filter and oil, make sure its clean, all the fins too, check the cooling fan and your good to go,i think the filter is 1410 at napa, make sure you use a hydrolic filter and not one for an engine

doc724 925 #4 Posted April 7, 2016 Wowzers! Clearly people have too much money to be throwing away a treasure like that. There was a member in Plymouth MA who scored a similar find. All it needed was a hood
russellmc301 600 #5 Posted April 7, 2016 we all know their are the people who buy things and as soon as they have a pin hole in the deck they give it aand haul it to a junk yard

dells68 7,499 #11 Posted April 7, 2016 Wow. I can't believe anyone would scrap that! Even if you were on the green side, you'd have to be nuts to scrap that. Great save!
AMC RULES 37,196 #12 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) Definitely looks to be worth... all the effort to drag it home, and give it a bath. Edited April 7, 2016 by AMC RULES

Tankman 3,523 #15 Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) Wow! Guess some don't know, some don't care, some lost their minds. Nicely left for someone with Wheel Horse Addiction. Did you wake up finding out you dreamed the whole salvage yard find a dream? Did the PO pay someone to haul the Horse to the salvage yard? You know why they paint John Deere's green (it's so they can hide them in the grass after they breakdown ) Wow doesn't describe the craziness of throwing a tractor like that away.
Wheelin'theSky 57 #19 Posted April 8, 2016 With scrap prices as low as they are, it would have probably been less than $5 in scrap metal for the guy. It's amazing what people throw away. Fantastic deal/pickup. Best of luck with it!
Bow_Extreme 550 #20 Posted April 8, 2016 Nice!! I saw one about a year ago sitting on the pile at Black River in Holland and it was too late. They picked it off the truck with the jaws and sat it on the pile and did a lot of damage to it. If you find anymore you don't want let me know. I'm in your area.
