What axles came on 1980ish C105?

I have toyed with the idea of converting a GT14 over to 8 speed.

Anyone know if the 105 came with 1" or 1 1/8" axles?

I can tell you that 78 and 79 C series had 1 1/8 axles.  I have a C141 and restored a C101 and both transaxles were the same

Just measured my 1982 C 105. It is 1 1/8". Hope that helps!

Hope you aren't "killing" a black hood in the making of an improved GT14...I'm kinda partial to my one and only...:ychain:

LOL

No not killing one.

There is a parts tractor located near me. Very far gone with multiple missing parts.

Thanks to both doc724 and SylvanLakeWH.

I am likely to pull the trigger.

Good to know that you can say truthfully: "No C 105's were killed in the making of this genetically modified GT 14..."! :)

So I pulled the trigger. Thought about posting in mirror thread but this partial tractor won't be resurrected. No hood or attachments and probably other stuff misusing but motor cranks, does not charge, has 8 speed and attach-a-matic hardware and frame that I need. Not much will go to waste. I'll probably snag the parts I need and post the remainder for sale on the pre-show sale thread.

RIP little C-105...From the looks of it you are definitely not :deadhorse:...

Looks like it will be a great little project!
