Achto 29,405 #1 Posted March 29, 2016 I've read a few posts from people having an issue keeping the front end of their mid engine tractors on the ground. I have this same issue with my 400. I guess one could always hang the cast iron Wheel Horse weight that was made for the tractors on the front. Because hey, everyone has these just lying around. The factory loaded the front tires with calcium chloride to help keep the front end down. But who wants to risk wrecking a good set of rims? Front tire ballast seems like a good way to add weight to the front and not change the look of a tractor. I did some reading on a product called Rim Saver a.k.a. Beet Juice. It is a tire ballast that claims to be biodegradable and safe on rims can even be used on tubeless tires. Weighs 11lbs to the gallon and has a freeze point of -35F. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this stuff. I'm thinking of trying it on my 400 if I can find someone local to fill my tires with it. RedRanger 1,469 #2 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) I'm considering it on my 401 as well as the 702. I have a local dealer that installs it. I'm afraid to let others drive the 401 because of the wheelies. I've seen the gas cap up close and personal. The 702 threw me on the first ride, but it was geared goofy when I got it and had a 20 pound aluminum go cart engine in it. I think adding the cast iron Kohler and battery back to it will solve the issue. Always looking for the dead unicorn weights though.
