engineguy63 238 #1 Posted March 27, 2016 I was just speaking with a collector the other day about the cost of Recoil starters for the 4hp K91. He mentioned that it was fairly common to use another engine recoil that was a bolt on fit, I think it was Tecumseh, however I cant be sure. Anybody know if this is correct and what model or part # I would need to use? Thanks.

AMC RULES 37,196 #5 Posted March 28, 2016 You'll need a short cup when using a Tecumseh recoil.
sorekiwi 761 #6 Posted March 28, 2016 Tecumseh recoil on my RJ many years ago. I only had a deep starter cup, so I cut and shortened it to suit. Worked fine.

sorekiwi 761 #8 Posted March 28, 2016 Tecumseh recoils are built tough! They have to be because they have to work 10 times harder to try and get a Tecumseh to start....
