6wheeler 669 #1 Posted March 25, 2016 I am looking for some help on a groundsmaster I am trying to hel a friend with. It is a 1980. Model number 30780. I can find it on the master parts viewer. It has the continental engine. The problem it is having? The accelerator pump is leaking on the carb, (according to the owner, I have have not seen the machine yet). I cannot find a carb assembly drawing. Does anyone know of these carbs? Can it be changed out for something else? Is there a kit available for it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Pat
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,239 #2 Posted March 25, 2016 Are these older model groundsmasters supported at all by Toro ?
6wheeler 669 #3 Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) Terry, I can find all the rest of the breakdown assembly drawings. With parts available(some). But no specific breakdown on that Continental engine. It does look as though it is somewhat supported. Sort of reminds me of the D-250 though. Edited March 25, 2016 by 6wheeler
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,239 #4 Posted March 25, 2016 I know years back, The john deere/ toro dealer in rosemount sold and serviced the 70's and 80' groundmasters. I dought they do now, but it may be worth a phone call. You also may have come accross this place.. www.montesequipment.com they specialize in finding old ,hard to find continental engine parts. Just my 2 cents.
Dennys502 246 #5 Posted March 25, 2016 My 81 D250 has a Solex Carb - no accelerator pump. There are carb kits on ebay for it if thats what is on your friends. I can't remember what the groundsmaster had for a carb but I made an adapter and put a Kohler carb on the D250.
