Pretty sure I've got picts of a :wh: haul in front of that building, which is still  there.

Gotta find 'em though...or go make more.  :handgestures-thumbsup:

Thanks for the historical post!

Our oldest mower is a Pennsylvania Panzer, grandson loves the dual brake pedals.  Donuts on my stone drives!  ;)

Craig:  You may have to take a picture of that building if you can't find your old one.     The White House was first mowed with a mechanical mower that was a steam driven Coldwell Mower.     I have a friend in Reelsville, Indiana that has his granfather's  1030's Coldwell  water cooled mower that cost $850 in the 1930's  .   I will post some pictures later this week.

Interesting how Toro consumes all these other companies and devours them.

And we think that Wheel Horses are hard to find?  Imagine collecting those.

Google Earth Baby...it's a wonderful thing.  :handgestures-salute:

Crazy to think...that the Toro-:wh: story can traced back to a building that sits 10 minutes from my house.

Who knew? :dunno: Pretty neat Lane, thanks for sharing the story...now I gotta get inside there.  :text-woo:

Building isn't actually in these picts...

but, both were taken right down there on the water front.

You were meant to have all those Wheel Horse Craig!   No doubt about it!

I need to see if Google Earth has updated photos on some of these old Lawn And Garden Bone yards!

With enough room to finally house your WH collection.

Imagine the big :wh: show we could have in that space.

Can you say...river front Friday night cruise night?  :eusa-clap:

So the Caldwell steam powered mower that cut the lawn at the White House is a twelfth cousin-twice removed to my 953s; I like that! :ychain:

Here are some pictures of the old Coldwell my friend has in one of his barns.   His grandfather bought this new in the 1930's for $850 .

Do you know what the device circled in blue? It looks like a generator or motor.

I am not sure what that is Richard.   I have not really gone over that thing closely.     The Coldwell tag is on that piece but hard to read  model number, etc.    It does have a shaft running to the gas/water cooled motor.   That thing is so heavy with the rear roller that it is hard to move in an un-running condition.
