On the K-91 the points are on the outside, check them first. Also, disconnect the condenser from the points to see if it is the problem.

Well I see no condenser what I have is a red wire going to the points only ... I have a black wire hanging out going nowhere... And one going up to the sparkplug...

The condenser is under the flywheel. I'm thinking the wire going nowhere is for the kill switch. :)

Pictures?

There are lots of discussions here about types of paint.  It depends on your equipment and ability.

I would suggest using the catalyzed hardener with whatever brand of paint you use. Any good auto supply like NAPA should be able to mix that for you, be sure to get a can of reducer to thin it and some lacquer thinner to clean the spray gun when you finish.   :handgestures-thumbupright:

in the process of putting it back together can someone help me on a steering question ? I have 3 steering collars does one go near the bottom im pretty sure of this ,, and is there suppose to be two more up higher one on each side of the steering colum bracket? ive looked at the parts diagram but it doesn't really show three it kinda only shows two

Only two are needed for the steering shaft. the bottom keeps it from pushing in and the top keeps it from pulling out. The third 3/4 lock collar is probably for the foot pedal to keep it from sliding on the peg bar.

From the factory...

the straps were tack welded to the bottom of the hood.

Not supposed to be any holes in it, besides the large tank fill hole. IMG_5156.JPG

I just ordered what hopefully is a correct clutch spring. I'll post the info after I receive it and verify it matches the spec's listed earlier in this thread.

The motor pulley is a double groove 2.5"

It's not exactly to the specs but I found a spring that's close and works great. Tractor Supply C-257 made by Century Spring.

Does that spring attach in front of the foot pedal or does it go over on the right side by the drive idler pulley
