tractorhogg 612 #3 Posted March 20, 2016 That.s a bunch of Malarky, 199.00 for piston. I'm pretty sure these pistons and rings are the same as the ones in the Kohler k241 or k301. There are many options for non supported engines, even car pistons if your going to bore or sleeve. The 18 hp Kohler K482 had a 3.251 bore and a 2.875 stroke. The 10 hp Kohler K241 had a 3.25 bore and a 2.88 stroke. The 20 hp Kohler K532 had a 3.375 bore and a 3.000 stroke. The12 hp Kohler K301 had a 3.38 bore and a 3.25 stroke. The 23 hp Kohler K582 had a 3.500 bore and a 3.000 stroke. The 14 hp Kohler k321 had a 3.50 bore and a 3.25 stroke. Yeah, I caught that "slight" oversight on the sellers part, that that one piston/rod would fit all 3 of those twins You'd think it would be obvious.... and what a bargain price -- yikes! The pistons are interchangeable from the k301, I recently did a minor rebuild on my K532 using a pair of those from one of the import dealers on the bay. The rods are the hang up!! I had one rod that wasnt quite what I liked and I started looking --- and looking and ---- finally a nice looking used one popped up on the bay for $50 and needless to say I jumped all over it! I used to know what rods were the same as these, now I'll have to find out again. BTW, If you use the actual kohler part number often it will pop up on a inventory list of a mower shop or parts house, that's how I found my OEM D-160 muffler, brand new sitting in a mower shop in Ohio since 1978-1979 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
