1055 Deck

Picking up a 1965 1055 Wheelhorse. It has no cutting deck.  Will the deck on the C145 I have fit the 1055?

1055 is a cool tractor.

I don't think your c series deck will work without major mods.

Doesn't the C series use a mule drive on the front of the tractor and have horizontal belt drives on the deck?

The 1965 1055 will run vertical from the clutch on the right side of the tractor I believe.

I guess the question is will the mule drive mount to the front of the 1055???

Plus the pulley size on the engine/clutch is different.

The deck carriage could probable be altered to mount on the 1055.

You would have to use the 1055s existing side drive and idling / clutch  pulley system though as there is no PTO on the 1055.

Also, the blades would be turning too slow unless you put a larger dia drive pulley on the engine or smaller one on the deck.

:WRS:   The 1055 is a short frame and I am not too sure the later mower decks will even fit between the tires. This is the type deck that is proper for the 1055.

This file will give you all the decks etc. that will fit.

Thanks, thats what I figured, but worth a try. I'm not going to mod it even if it did fit.  the 1055 looks like a tank and has a plow so maybe it will just get non cutting duties....

What year did the 10xx and 12xx series become long frames?  I thought everything larger than 8hp were long frames, or "longer" frames?

Looking at the interchange pdf, I see what your saying though.

I'd keep my eyes open for a RM-425 deck.

1967 was the year that the "Long Frame" :wh:, I had a 1267 at one time and it was about 4 or 5 inches longer than the 1055.

No wonder the 1055 looks so bad ass with that engine stuffed in there!

Wow, coming home with the rig I stopped for coffee and a guy walks up and offers me $300 more than I had just paid for the 1055.  So we backed the trucks up and transferred the machine.

He'd been looking for one cuz that's what his dad had when he was growing up.

Back to craigslist....
