 My point was, it might have been a Harley but if the parent company was AMC it probable wasn't as good as the Harleys of today.

AMF was the dark days of Harley.  Not exactly know for the best quality-AMF bikes.

AMF did save Harley from bankruptcy and keep it alive though eventually selling the company back to Harley investors.

Without AMF, there would be no current Harley.

Over the years I have gotten a lot of feed back from friends I was in the service with that live near the Harley factory.  

                 So. central PA. :happy-partydance:

Even though there is a difference in the amount money represents now the quality of a garden or lawn tractor of this size now is now where close to what it was. 

Even the tractors that do match the pricing scale, can't do what they used too without breaking constantly, not saying there is not quality thing anymore it just much harder to find.
