I can understand the blades, one of mine wears his most of the year. If you're lookin' for snow I'm heading west on US 78 with my sling shot for someone's noggin'. It's near 75 degrees just south of Allentown. Thinking, "dethatch, Little Wonder blower, overseeding the lawns and forever raking stone the Horses pushed off the drives playing in the white, cold, wet, nasty junque!" Great Horse and blower. Sold my blower, drives are stone and millings. Kept one small blower for the patios. Love my '90 520-8 but often think, "Darn, hydraulics would be great". I'm really happy with the 520-HC and can't wait to try it out although I'm not looking forward to a major storm. I got it around 1993 at an auction for $300 with just a 36 inch rear discharge deck. I had the engine rebuilt right away and the hydro rebuilt soon afterwards. I got the 42 inch blade not much later. I rebuilt the deck a few years later. I am very happy with it and it has been very dependable and a good strong worker. I am very surprised that it does so well with only 8 hp and a hydro. I have used the blade to level driveway stone, tons of topsoil, grade driveways and lawns, and move lots of snow. I am very pleased with it's performance. Yes the blower is a monster. Works great but hard to push around since my 68th B-Day. This morning made a little tow bar for one blower. I had been dethatching for a couple of days and needed to blow the loose "hair" off the lawns. Hey agronomy Penn State student years ago. I like a clean lawn but don't have a vac. I like blowing spring leaves, hate blowin' winter white, wet, cold, nasty junque! I think it's time to stop all the snow removal posts. As soon as I get the snow thrower done it's coming off the tractor and I'm putting it away for the summer. Then I'll concentrate on warm weather projects.
