raider 12 just stopped cut out ???

hi all my raider 12 was working fine but i did notice it seemed to be running abit rough every now and then i started it and ran it a sort distance and then it just cut out ive looked at spark plug its a new one only a few months old and held it on the block don't seem to get a spark from it any ideas were to start to get it running again will it be coil pack ht lead points ??? whats first thing to check thanks paul

With the ignition switch in the run position check to see if you have 12 volts at the small + terminal on the coil.  You can use a multimeter or if yu do not have one a 12v light bulb and some wire to make a test light. If you do have voltage then try cleaning the points.  No voltage may be a switch or wire issue.

Negative lead from your multimeter goes to any good ground on the engine/frame

just put a new ht lead on and it started up so hopefully that be problem
