Black64galaxie 65 #1 Posted March 3, 2016 I'm taking apart my mower deck on my 510h. I have one spindle that sounds a little suspect. Does the whole assembly have to be replaced or can I get a bearing put in it? Also any numbers I need to find to get the correct bearing or spindle? Scott Most spindle assemblies have bearings that can be replaced. Can only guess the tractor is a model 520-H. A tractor model number and serial number would verify the age of the unit. Usually found under the left side of the seat. Mower decks also have a model and serial number which would get you the correct parts list. Usually on the rear of the deck pan. Mower decks are sized by their width of cut. The length of each blade would help and they are not always the same length depending on the model/size. Two mower blades or three? Does the mower deck have a side or rear discharge? Garry
Black64galaxie 65 #3 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) I was told its year is an 89. It is a 3 blade with side discharge. It's probably around a 42 inch deck. I am having it sandblasted right now so I don't have the tag number offhand. My bad yes it's 520-h also. Scott. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,499 #4 Posted March 3, 2016 Here is the 1989 42" SD parts list for the long frame tractors 1990 operator manual - sorry don't have the 1989 Keep in mind there is a good chance your deck is different. Decks from 1973-2007 will fit just the same so anything is a possibility. Once you have the spindle bearings out their size will likely determine the deck model and age. That was the main difference as improvements were made to the same basic deck. Also the blade center hole went from 5/8" x 3/4" double-D to 3/4" round hole at some point. Black64galaxie 65 #5 Posted March 3, 2016 Thanks Garry. Ya I see the center spindle is the same as the others. Must be the later style.
