squonk 43,843 #3 Posted February 22, 2016 I would use spray graphite if anything.
slammer302 2,156 #4 Posted February 22, 2016 I agree with squonk on the dry graphite lube. The problem with using lithium grease is it attracts dirt and ends up doing more harm than good. I often thought about greasing my lift cable but after seeing what grease mixed with dirt and sand will do to parts over along period of time made me change my mind.
Pullstart 66,868 #5 Posted February 22, 2016 if you have a steel tube maybe you should weld a grease zerk in the middle and filler' up!
doc724 925 #6 Posted February 22, 2016 I left mine dry, although I had the plastic sheathed cable if it makes any difference
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #7 Posted February 22, 2016 One of our members in the vendor section sells the plastic sheathed cable. Mine slips through very easily.
Tankman 3,523 #8 Posted February 22, 2016 Grandsons use WD-40 (water displacement) and/or PB Blaster all the time, everywhere if we're not at TSC browsing. Clean machines! Grandsons keep the Horses clean 'n lubed 100% of the time. I believe they get more attention than our dog partner does.
Phatboy 565 #9 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) Yea Guys. Aldon 4,828 #10 Posted February 22, 2016 Any Dry Lubricant would work I would think. I used to use Liquid wrench Teflon spray for internals on fire arms. Here is a pic of another brand that would essentially lub but not attract and cause issues.

Cleans non-abrasive for firearm barrels, and besides, what Stallion wouldn't like panty hose?
