chorusguy 227 #1 Posted February 19, 2016 I'm picking up a c120 tomorrow that has a replacement k341 qs on it. Don't need the tractor but for the price I'm getting a running motor to keep in reserve for my c160s. (If you need c120 parts there will be some available). My question is about the designation. Is there something special about the "q" (quiet) k341? Thanks

chorusguy 227 #3 Posted February 19, 2016 Thanks I understand the designation, I guess my question is what makes it quiet? Is the engine itself any different than the s designation?

Wishin4a416 2,191 #6 Posted February 21, 2016 I thought the Q was a IH thing where they put an oversized QUIET muffler on it. I could be way off here though. I have a quiet muffler in the garage and it came off of IH. Very big and quiet when I had it on 160.
chorusguy 227 #7 Posted February 21, 2016 I picked it up and brought it home but haven't even taken any pictures. It looks different. I did a little research and it has a narrow block and may have a shallower oil pan but am not sure. The coil is mounted on the back over the starter and I think the throttle and governor pivots are in a different place. I will post pictures soon.
