What model is it

I had asked my son to keep a lookout for a junk round hood for me a while back. He sent this picture to me yesterday and asked if this hood will work. I told him not to get the hood but see if his friend wants to sell all of it.

Ya you've got the right idea. Get all of it if you can.

Frame/ hood/ engine  etc appears to be  rj58 - rj59

Wheels/ Tires not so much

Others with more  knowledge are sure to respond

Cheers

:text-yeahthat:

Has a Cinton engine and if it's a B1290, it would be a correct factory engine. Solid seat pan could be original to the tractor and were used closer to 1960 when they were also put on the 400/550 tractors

:text-bravo:   @Hank01, you don't want to have that old RJ sitting around in your way; have your son just bring it over to my house. :ychain:

I figured if you stored it in my barn long enough you would forget you owned it (we are getting older) and then it would be mine.  :ychain:

I guess he wanted to load test it. That is his worker sitting on it.

Love the RJ; but that is not a calendar shot.   :ychain:

I agree on the calendar shot.

I told him not to do any more "load testing".:angry-nono: The motor turns over and the transmission shifts. That's all I know about it right now.

My wife and I went to meet our new granddaughter this weekend.

I got a closer look at the rj and took some more pictures. Don't know what I will do with it yet. I don't know much about this model tractor so any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The centrifugal clutch is not original and seems to be missing the belt tension stuff.

Thanks wallfish. I have decided to get this running for the Grandkids to ride. While visiting last week the kepi asking me if i was going to start it up. When i told them eventually they asked why not now. They did not want to hear my excuses. LOL

Are parts available for this engine?

When I figure out the other things I need I'll put an ad in the classifieds.

Seems like I see more replacement motors going on this model.

Harbor freight has a 3hp and a 6.5 on sale.

AMC, why do I need to put tombstones on this . Does it like to rear up that much?

That rear seat placement acts like a cantilever when going up hill, or popping the clutch...

the more weight you have in the seat, the lighter the front end becomes.

OK thanks. Counter weight will be a priority.

WHX??

You still looking for Parts for that Clinton Hank if so let me know I have a parts guy...got me stuff for my B1290"s & inexpensive.  Looks like you are missing some tins. That is definitely a late 59 RJ. A very rare "automatic" with that clutch!
