No springs on axle seals?

I am in the process of rebuilding my WH 854 uni drive. I have noticed that the new seals SKF 9815 and SKF 7410 are a springless variety. These are for the axle and brake shaft. I could be mistaken but the last time I replaced axle seals there was a small spring inside the seal. What goes here?
