a few questions

just picked up my first wheelhorse. its a 414-8 .87 model anyways i bought it for small food plots. i need a plow, disc harrow,possible tiller..were would i even start looking. and is there other brands that would fit mine. this is all new to me so im kinda overwelmed..but i bought this baby to work so help me get started lol...also anything i need to be concerned with this model? thanks..i hope i posted in right spot last one got moved lol

       414-8 will be a very capable worker. You could start by posting want ads in the "Classified" section here on Red-square. There are a few different hitch arrangements on  so it is good to know that too. Take a good photo of the rear end of the 414 so we can see what hitch you are working with.

first of all welcome,thats a very capable tractor,i have 2 414,s an 87 and 89,yiu should look at craigslist every day and watch for wheelhorse stuff,it usually goes fast so you need to act fast when you see something you like,you can post in our wanted section to see if anyone in your area has stuff for sale,look in our classified section also,as far as attachments pull behind implements can be other brands,brinly is a brand I can think of,theres lots of others,tillers pretty much need to be wheelhorse,mower decks also,as well as snow throwers,its just easier,heres a pic of my 414 with tiller

         A 400 series no matter what the horsepower is up to your needs.I have used a turn plow to break up my garden and it worked well.You will need a plow and lift

mechanism.The plow can be Wheel Horse other makes.The attachment type (Brinley or sleeve) will dictate what hitch you need.This is pretty much the same for discs as well

although some trailer types are out there.If you decide to plow and disc then you will need the rear cable lift system for your machine if it does not have one.There is a vendor

here that has what you need and I can personally say that what he sells is first rate as he just sent me a complete rear lift system for my 416.The tiller option is the cats meow.

I drove over 600 miles round trip to get mine.To be able to till the garden while parttaking of my favorite beverage is great.Beats fighting ANY walk behind.With that said  they can be difficult to find and tine wear affects the asking price.Luck,JAinVA

If none of the folks here have one there is a wheel horse one on ebay with clevis hitch for $125.00 ,, of course that is if none of the members here have one first...dont wanna take a sale away from anyone here..these guys have great deals and good quality stuff..

When I engaged ground I quickly added front suitcase weights. I found the front axle wanting to lift off without the added front weights while turning earth.

If you are wanting to do gardens, depending on the soil a tiller is all you will need. If its too hard for a tiller then get yourself a turning plow and then till it. Don't waste your time with a disc harrow.

man those pics look great with the tillers..i spent hours today trying to locate a tiller ,,im thinking of selling the 414. its awful nice for what im gonna use it for, plus if parts are gonna always be this hard to find i really dont need the headache. just not many of them around here in north alabama..if anyone looking for a nice 414 holler at me
