I was out using my No-Name 10 when all of a sudden it just died. I've been running it pretty hard removing the snow on the lane I live on. I dont think the engine is new enough to have a low oil shut fown, does it? It's night time, freezing cold outside and my WH is dead in yhe middle of my lane with my snow blower attached to it. Please, if you can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Yes it has a full tank of fuel, also. The lights work, it'll crank but it just wont start. Thanks.

Points wet? If the points get wet from snow or moisture it will ground the spark. Remove the cover and blow them out with compressed air put the cover back on. A new gasket and wire grommet will aleviate this problem.

It could be. When I warm up I'll go give it a shot. Thank you.

The above post about the points is a good call, especially in snow.

Sudden stop usually mean the loss of spark.  More than once I've had a ignition wire drop off the coil.  Could be the coil.  If you have a spare spark plug put the plug wire on it, ground it and crank.  One of the few times that darkness can actually help.

Thanks guys. I'm heading up to my tractor now to try the points drying and taking a plug. I'll let you know what happens. I made it. I put a new plug on it, got spark. Points cover looks dry as can be. I gave it some choke, turned the key and she fired up. Woo-Hoo. I am one happy camper. Maybe it was a little over heated?

well, after a little more snow removal, I noticed sparks coming from the chain drive on the outside of the blower. I stopped and looked, lo and behold, blew the bearing. Now, I must find a quick replacement for it.

Check all the bearings including the idler sprockets. If one went bad, chances are another isn't too far behind!
