Black64galaxie 65 #1 Posted January 18, 2016 Another question on my 520. The parking brake will not work. I took the panel off the tunnel area and looked into the lever. Is there supposed to be some kind of hook or something to keep the lever down. I'm thinking something broke and is missing. Any photos pf what it is supposed to look like ? HokieAg07 129 #2 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) The teeth on the black piece (lower center of picture) will catch on the parking brake lever that you engage. Brake system is very simple on these tractors. I suggest you look up a parts breakout, available on this site in the manual section, to get a better idea of how it all goes together. JAinVA 4,638 #3 Posted January 18, 2016 I had the same issue with the last two I brought home.In both cases the adjustment of the brake band was so tight that I could not out enough pressure on the brake pedal to get the teeth to engage.You might loosen the adjustment nut some and see if that helps.Luck.JAinVA 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

BTW galaxie Oh no fellas, the picture is of a 97 314H I had a while back. Sold it to another RedSquare lurker. It was the cleanest machine I had ever seen.
