I have A C120 "special". it has a 12 hp tecumseh. Not my choice of engine, but it works. Does anyone know anything about this tractor? All the info i find nobody talks about a C-120 special. :hide:

Go here --->https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm

Then go to the master parts viewer.

Plug in your model number from the build tag on the dash tower.

You will find parts lists, drawings and part numbers for your tractor

and the individual parts.

Most of the C-120's had the 12 hp Kohler engine in them. But, in 1974 and 1975, Wheel Horse built some C-120's with 12 hp Tecumseh engines in them. I haven't seen one in person, but I know a couple of members here either has one or had one.

Wheel Horse built some C-120's with 12 hp Tecumseh engines in them...

C-160's too with 16 hp overhead valve techumsehs.

Best tractor/engine combo ever made :hide: ! Seriously, I LIKE techumsehs.

Dont get me wrong the engine is a good engine. It dont use hardly any oil, and it dont smoke, just a little puff now and then. But it just dont seem to have the bottom end power that i would like to have. Maybe i'm just expecting too much out of a 12hp? :hide:

My understanding is the only significant difference is the engine.

The Kohler have much broader power curves than most other engines. I have a Kohler manual that has graphs in comparison.

So unless Kohler is lying... :hide::D
