Mike'sHorseBarn 3,241 #1 Posted December 31, 2015 So the k241 kohler on my 1076 is acting up. The tractor runs great when you first fire it up and the engine is cold, but the hotter the engine gets the worse it runs. When it gets hot it's just spitting and sputtering and missing. I'm thinking it's an electrical problem, but would it be the condenser or the coil? Funny thing is that it just started doing this all of a sudden. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

rmaynard 16,289 #5 Posted December 31, 2015 I have the same problem with a K241. New carburetor, new points, and new condenser, adjusted valves, and the problem still persists. pacer 3,177 #8 Posted January 2, 2016 I'm with the rest on thinking condenser or coil. I believe I would lean a little more to the coil --- but a condenser is a good bit cheaper, soooo.... I replaced the points and condenser and had the same problem, engine got hot and it started to spit and sputter. Swapped coils with the one on my case 220 (I know it's not a horse I'm sorry lol) and it purred like a kitten regardless of the engine being hot or cold.
