what could I use?

I know where there's a classic 312 hydro for parts. I was gonna grab the 12 hp for a C-175 that I need a motor for.

Is there anything else I should take?

Hmm...  If you have no need for it, how much for the hydro. I wonder if the 312 is an Eaton 1100?

Not 100% on this but I do think you will need the PTO and all associated parts that go with it. Maybe someone else will chime in here that is more familiar with the C175 set up VS the 312 setup.

I'm not familiar with either model, is there a motor mount?

The C175 sits on a isolated motor mounting plate, they call it a shaker plate. It's has four rubber mounts to help cut down vibration.

Good to know. Will the 312 engine bolt right up, or does it use a mount he may need to modify?

I could use the Eaton, valve, and the lift cylinder, etc. Midpack, if you buy the tractor, how much do you want for them? If you are just buying parts off it, ask how much, and how much do you want for your trouble? If the price works out, I wouldn't mind having a replacement. I think one of mine is going.

The 312's motor will not need the engine plate that the 175 used. It should mount striaght to the frame just like it did on the 312's frame. The 175 should have the holes in the frame already. Not sure you might need to use the 312's belt gaurd.

I did notIce the PTO works differently Than my C175, It uses the curved rod to apply pressure rather than that brake pad material

I'll have to see what It has for a hydro.

The Wireing Is a total mess too.
