953 nut 60,241 #2 Posted December 23, 2015 WD 40! You probably have moisture in the area of the Bendix drive. Put an incandescent light bulb close to the starter for a day to dry it and then drench the Bendix with WD 40. Hope this helps. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Howie 899 #4 Posted December 23, 2015 Dirt and all that stuff gets all over the starter shaft and starter drive. The WD 40 will help clean the two pieces up. Oil on the shaft collects some of that dirt the flywheel blows around under the housing.
