rustyoldjunk 127 #1 Posted December 2, 2008 i think i will make a winter project of mounting my kwik way loader on my 520-8.the only thing that worries me is the tractor frame where it meets/bolts to the trans.i would like some ideas on the best way to build a subframe for the loader.i was thinking maybe the back of the subframe should be directly attatched to the transaxle? maybe the front mount attatched about where the mid tach is? im thinking the factory quick tachs arent strong enough for a fel? so im looking for ideas, suggestions and close up pictures would be great. DMESS 24 #2 Posted December 2, 2008 That's exactly how the KW subframe mounts. Axle housings at the rear, mid attach-a-matic hitch and front attach-a-matic hitch. Plenty strong enough.
rustyoldjunk 127 #3 Posted December 2, 2008 thanks DMESS.thats the kind info im looking for.does anyone have pics of the subframe or know where i could find any?
Nick 13 #4 Posted December 2, 2008 I'll stop at my brothers and shoot a few pictures of his today. Been wanting to do it for a while and just didnt get around to it. I will add that the subframes do help support the tractors fram and transmission mount. When adding the 3pt to the LR my plan was to also reinforce the trans plate. But after over 2 years of heavy use there wasnt a single crack so I got lazy and didnt weld in an adition support plate. :hide:
rustyoldjunk 127 #5 Posted December 2, 2008 thanks Nick, that would be great.
Nick 13 #6 Posted December 2, 2008 It was a bit tight in the garage for taking pictures but got a few that are ok. There is a weight frame attached to the subframe with the rear mounting bolt. The same way KW mounts there weight box. Link to more pictures
