Operator Manual, 1975 B-80

Recommended Posts

On the off chance that anyone is considering ordering an Operator's Manual (#803442) for a 1975 B-80 (1-0141), be forewarned...it's crap. :D

This "manual" was not available as a free download on the Toro site...I had to pay for it. So by their description that would mean it is supposedly reproduced from microfiche, but the copy quality is so poor as to render it mostly useless, especially if you need to see any of the photos. It's clearly a photocopy of a photocopy of a.....you get the idea. The cover bears the words "Best Copy Available", evidentally stamped on it a few generations before my copy was produced.

And while I'm venting....you'd think that for $8.80 they would at least print it on 11 x 17 paper and saddle-stitch it, but noooooo, this work of art was printed on 8.5 x 11 with two staples on the left side.

I would love to know if there's a better source for one, or if by chance someone close to Mechanicsville, VA has one they would like to make available, I will be glad to scan it (and return it) and create a decent downloadable file, as well as paginate & print it if desired.

Thanks for listening to my rant. (My 2 yr old Samsung 50" DLP TV died tonight....I'm in a "ranting" mood!) :hide:

Just had a quick look in the Yahoo wheelhorsemanuals groups. Didnt see one for a 75, but theirs one for a 77 (covering several B's and C's).

You'll have to join the group if your not a member, but there's a ton of stuff there in the 8 manuals groups.

Mike...thanks for the heads-up on the yahoo group. I have signed up and am awaiting approval from the group mod.

Steve....thanks for the offer on using the '74 manual. If it's OK with you, I 'll keep that option in my pocket in case I can't lay my hands on a decent '75 version.

Happy holidays,

Chris
