WorkTheHorses 0 #1 Posted December 4, 2015 Good evening all. I hope your enjoying the Lions game as much as I am. I have a C-160 and a C-120. Both are hydrostatic. I have 2 questions I guess. 1. Both tractors have the sunstrand rearend. Are these the exact same transmissions? 2. The C-120 has a manual lift handle, but the C-160 has hydraulic lift. Can I put an 8 speed transmission on the C-120 and put the hydro rearend off the C-120 on the C-160 so I can still utilize my hydraulic lift? If so, how big of a job will it be to convert the C-120? Ed Kennell 35,951 #2 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) If the trannys are original, the 120 should have a 90-1136 and the 160 a 90-1140. they are the same dimensions and interchangeable . The 120 s 90-1136 tranny can be put in the 160 easily. You will have to put a spring and pressure cone in one of the ports of the tranny. Not sure if you can take the spring and cone out of the 160 tranny and use it or if they are different. you may need different hoses to hook up the lift cyl. Putting an 8 speed in the 120 is more involved requiring adding a clutch to operate the manual tranny. BTW, I woke up just in time to see the miracle finish by Aarons and company.
