lobo 22 #1 Posted November 30, 2015 While pushing snow, the wet and heavy kind, whenever I had a lot out front, my 161 would just shutdown. It would come back to life on it's own and run fine until the next time. Any thoughts on this?
Wishin4a416 2,190 #2 Posted November 30, 2015 Could snow be getting behind your points cover and grounding out? Check to be sure rubber grommet is in place. Just a thought.
pfrederi 17,514 #3 Posted December 1, 2015 Look for condensation under the points cover...
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,912 #4 Posted December 1, 2015 The engine sits is a rubber mounted cradle. Make sure the ground cable between the engine and the battery is not compromised. Under load the belt may be changing the position of the engine. Garry 2nd thought - Is this a single cylinder or twin?
lobo 22 #5 Posted December 1, 2015 Thanks for the thoughts guys, will check everything you mentioned. It is a single cylinder 16hsp, but I did put the chevy points on it, that may be where the problem lies, will silicone around the cover and see if that helps. Thanks again.
