B165 0 #1 Posted November 30, 2008 I installed a 48"plow on my B165 and have trouble getting the attachement lift to be capable of picking up the plow. This plow is a WH and attaches to the rear axle, I think it is for a late 80s WH. Has anyone rigged a workable lift for this plow on a B series? Thanks BTW it is snowing now! refracman 167 #3 Posted November 30, 2008 I do believe that the B165 is a horizontal shaft tractor. It takes model #06-42BB01 and 06-42BX01. LIke Scott says some pics would help! O ya :hide:
Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #4 Posted November 30, 2008 Sounds like like you have a plow for a horizontal shaft tractor but have a vertical shaft tractor. I dont own a vertical Wheel Horse so I'm not sure how the lift setup is configured. You may have to fabricate some type of lift linkage or look for a plow made for your style tractor. Mike...... jusjeepn 59 #7 Posted December 1, 2008 Weren't all thr vert plows mounted in the mid mount attachamatic not on the rear? Their lift was all manual and self contained on the plow unit. Did not use the tractor lift at all. I could be mistaken... Where's Joel when you need him?
countryboyB165 0 #8 Posted January 26, 2010 i just got a plow for my b165 and i cant figure out how to hook it up either any help?
sawhorse 0 #9 Posted January 27, 2010 We need the model number from your plow to help you. I have a plow model number 06-42BB02 which has superseded model # 06-42BB01 it is a vertical shaft tractor plow if you have this plow you also need the mounting plate which attaches to the tractor and two long metal elbow straps to attach the plow to the tractor. Did not use the tractor lift at all. I could be mistaken... Where's Joel when you need him? My first wheel horse was a Charger V8 which had a vertical engine. It had a New Vac plow that mounted to a bracket on the rear axle as is similar with a lot of other WH tractors. When I upgraded to a 314-H with horizontal shaft, I used the same plow and rear axle bracket (the old style according to the snow plow thread.) It worked fine except that at full tilt, it could touch the front tires. So some interchange is possible depending on the model. It seemed to me that the lift mechanism on the Charger V8 was pretty similar to the 314-H - at least where the plow attached. I would speculate the difference is whether the trans has square axles. My A-80-E (also vertical) has round axle housing and would probably use a mid mount. But I agree that pictures would help a whole lot.
