trainman 0 #1 Posted November 22, 2015 I got a Reo/Wheel Horse snow blower and the motor is seized up Not sure what on it locked up. can I put diesel fuel in the crankcase and let it soak for a while or should I just drop the sump cover and see what's going on? SPINJIM 1,986 #2 Posted November 22, 2015 I used a 3:1 mix of diesel fuel and Marvel Mystery Oil to free up a 12hp Kohler. Poured in about a half pint thru the spark plug hole, and soaked it for a few weeks. Then slowly worked it free with a breaker bar and socket on the fly wheel bolt. The engine is now running smoothly with no smoking, and I didn't have to pull the head. Worth a try, and should work if the engine is seized from just sitting unused (as opposed to overheating from low oil). Also, might want to drain the old oil, and see what comes out. Good luck.
