Jparkes43 329 #1 Posted November 8, 2015 Hello everone.Since doing my engine swap on my lawn ranger i have been thinking about a throttle pedal setup for the ranger. i was thinking about using either a mirrored version of the clutch/brake pedal that is on it currently or using the same pedal and just turning it around. just wondering if anyone has done this?? was thinking this was because it would look sort of original while still having good functionality and convenience rather than a push/pull stick on the dash (in my opinion)James
Jparkes43 329 #2 Posted November 8, 2015 Don't worry guys just noticed that the shaft in which the footrest is placed isn't long enough for a pedal and foot rest as there is a large bend in the rod preventing me from sliding a pedal over. James

wallfish 18,108 #4 Posted November 8, 2015 Probably not a good idea for a worker or cruiser type tractor anyway. The governor takes care of everything.I did do one like that for a 35+ MPH hot rod tractor where lots of throttle change was necessary.
Jparkes43 329 #5 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) Hello. Thank you all for your replies. I used this idea to make the foot pedal motion control for my 520H.This looks good but not quite what i was thinking but thanks any way Probably not a good idea for a worker or cruiser type tractor anyway. The governor takes care of everything.I did do one like that for a 35+ MPH hot rod tractor where lots of throttle change was necessary. Hello. i see your point but my ranger isn't standard for working etc. i engine swapped it to a go kart Honda GX200 so its more of a show vehicle and i will one day change the gearing. its not got a governor on it as it is a go kart engine. i am going for something you did i supposeI know it doesn't look like much right now but it is in mock up stage and is ready pretty much for a teardown and winter restoration project ready for the new year in case you haven't here is my build thread check it out if you want (http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/58006-lawn-ranger-20/?page=3#comment-554682) it going to be the original red with a semi original look. The story is i had already done a restoration on this tractor as when i bought the tractor it wasn't the best looking and then engine was going anyway and run horribly so when i came to put it back together the engine just refused to work and i tried and tried and tried so much but gave up on it and therefore i ended up changing plans and getting a new engine for it. so i primered up things that were going to be changed to stop some of the corrosion while i worked on it but once i have done some weldig i will do another full restoration ad then a rebuild. callum12 257 #10 Posted November 11, 2015 there is a youtuber called 'fearless front' he does a lot of mud mowing and has made a foot throttle while maintaining the dash throttle feature. not sure what video its one though, you'll have to do a search or something. I'm pretty sure its on his diesel sears. callum
