Recommended Posts

Hi I am very new here! and have not yet mastered the navigation of this Forum
Is there an existing RJ58 Registry?
And if so; how do I find it?

Nice idea,  but I think it would be most difficult to do and maintain any sort of accuracy. Most RJs don't have their serial numbers anymore, and many RJs change hands so often that a registry of owners would be obsolete too quickly.

Other than the few #'s here...
http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1880-tractor-1958-1959-rj-58-rj-59-da-om-ipl-snpdf/
not that I've ever seen...
you should start one.

:handgestures-thumbupright:

I just looked at the above link and found, to my surprise, the serial number of my RJ-58.  Since I've never submitted anything to register my RJ, I'm wondering these serial numbers were obtained?

I have submitted mine, and it's not on the list.

Gads that is nice!  Not just the tractor, the details to the tractor but also the the background!  Who took that shot?  Just a bit lower would have framed it with the background houses a touch better!  But nice indeed!

The 00005 came from Red Square but long ago.

0005 was posted but the extra digit added to make all 1958 serials 5 digits.

The name associated with it was
Terpstra's.

I used to record who and where so one could go back to the original post but it's not working this time.

This is my RJ-58 that I bought this one from RedSquare member Jdog_kustoms about four years ago...

I bought a seat and both front wheels/tires for it.  Other than that, I believe it to be all original otherwise except for the plastic gas tank which I intend to replace.  This is as it sits today...

Near as I can tell, the S/N of my RJ-58 is 4885 which is also not on "the list" in the link noted in above posts. There is no date code on top of the transaxle case so it would be one of the early RJ's. This tractor is currently located in York, PA.

Yeah that plastic tank wouldn't be a good idea with the exhaust so close...I always wondered about building a heat shield to go on the backside if the exhaust to where a person could use a plastic tank if need be.
